Wide dynamic range is just the beginning of the list of features on The COR-552W security camera. It does not include a lens since this camera is designed to be used with any industry standard C- or CS-mount lens.
OSD Configurable Settings
More than just the lens can be configured by the end user. The OSD (on-screen display) menu lets you adjust all the important image quality factors for your situation.
You can configure white balance to help insure accurate color reproduction. Configure LUX sensitivity to pickup up images in light levels as low as 0.0002 LUX. Enhance image sharpness and color. Adjust auto-gain levels. Even set up a privacy mask. The OSD menu lets you do much more compared to other cameras that have switch selectable setting (usually ON/OFF).
A lens is not included with this camera. It has an industry standard mount so if you have C- or CS-mount lenses on hand they will probably fit. In the event you do need a lens, click here to go to our LENS section, where you can find a wide variety of security camera lenses that will fit this camera.
True Wide Dynamic Range
The Sony HAD II Double-scan video sensor creates higher quality images by using a non-digital True WDR sampling technique. The sensor scans an image several times, uses analog techniques to compare and analyze each pass, then performs color and brightness correction before outputting a video image. This provides better imaging when compared to cameras that use standard (digital) WDR techniques. It is especially useful when the situation requires you to take video of individuals in front of a background that contains a high degree of varying amounts of light and high/low contrast regions of color and shadow.
These sampling techniques pay off. The Sony video sensor and the chipset in this camera will produce clear, usable high resolution (typically ~600 lines) images where other cameras will only generate darkly tinted figures and images floating in haze and tinted video artifacts.

OSD menu: make fine adjustments to white balance, color, and all other image quality settings
This is a great camera by itself. As an addition to a current security system it's a great investment, especially when you consider the flexibility offered by the features in the OSD menu and the image quality provided by True WDR. One or two of these cameras in your security system network even lets you make emergency swapping operations when a camera goes down.
